Hey guys! This is my first blog post on the website. I plan to write about a variety of things but, I am focusing primarily on one of the activities that I have recently been working on and that which I plan to work on more over the summer - flying! My plans right now are just to get my private pilot's license and then, from there, who knows? I would love to work with other young girls and start a program to teach them how to fly. I won't have another set of flight hours for a few weeks. Until then, I'll talk about the process of getting one's pilot's license.
For starters, my dad was a Naval fighter jet pilot in the 90s and early 2000s. He became a pilot in his early 20s and loved it. When I can, I'll try to find a video of him flying in an airshow. A lot of my inspiration for flying came from him, but there's always been a deeper desire for me to fly. I remember having dreams about flying when i was a kid and I fell in love with watching hawks and eagles - they were mesmerizing to me. I genuinely thought there could be nothing better than being able to sprout a pair of wings and take off. That is what has led me to this point in my life - I'm ready to get my private!
